Job summary

Lift Ryde, part of Lift Schools on the Isle of Wight, invites you to join its Physics Teacher Training Programme. It is a school-based Initial Teacher Training (ITT) programme with a salaried route, so you can earn while you learn while working toward your PGCE and QTS.

The duration is 1 year full-time, with the Summer School running 2–13 August 2027. You gain practical classroom experience, mentoring, and guidance to progress toward independent teaching across our network.

Qualifications

• Degree: undergraduate degree with 2:2 or above, in Physics/ STEM preferred.
• GCSEs: English and Mathematics grade 4/C or above.
• Right to live and work in the UK for the duration of the training year.
• Must not currently hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Responsibilities

• Train in a school-based setting with practical classroom teaching.
• Earn PGCE and QTS through the salaried route.
• Receive weekly mentoring and targeted career support.
• Participate in shared training sessions with Ark Teacher Training and Lift Schools.
