Job summary

Oakfield Street Surgery is a friendly, dynamic and well-established GP training practice caring for around 13,500 patients. We are looking for a Salaried GP to join our experienced team, with 46 sessions per week, Monday to Wednesday, and a flexible pattern to be agreed.

The post is under a 12-month fixed-term contract with potential permanency, supported by a collaborative multidisciplinary team and an emphasis on teaching, development and patient-centred care within a well-established practice.

Qualifications

• Commitment to GMC standards and patient safety.
• Ability to participate in teaching and training of GP trainees and medical students.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking routine face-to-face and telephone GP consultations, assessing, diagnosing & managing a range of acute & chronic conditions.
• Participating in the practice duty/on-call GP rota as part of the agreed job plan, including telephone & clinical triage, urgent patient assessments & appropriate home visits.
• Reviewing pathology, investigation results & out-of-hours reports, taking appropriate action where required.
• Making appropriate referrals & providing ongoing management & follow-up of patients.
• Providing clinical advice & support to the wider multidisciplinary practice team.
• Maintaining accurate clinical records & working in accordance with GMC standards, practice policies & relevant NHS Wales requirements.
• Contributing to clinical governance, audit, quality improvement & patient safety.
• Working collaboratively with our 6 GP Partners, 4 Salaried GPs and wider multidisciplinary team.
• Supporting our strong teaching and training ethos, including contributing to the education & development of GP trainees, medical students and other learners where appropriate.
