Job summary

Oakfield Street Surgery in Ystrad Mynach, Wales, is recruiting a Salaried GP on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract with a view to permanency. The post offers 46 sessions per week, with a mix of on‑site duties and teaching responsibilities within a GP training practice.

You will provide routine GP care, participate in the on‑call system, supervise learners, and contribute to governance and quality improvement within a supportive multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Maintain full GMC registration and licence to practise.
• Commitment to GP training and teaching within a training practice.
• Willingness to work across a fixed-term contract with potential permanency.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based general medical care to registered patients.
• Undertake face-to-face and telephone consultations as appropriate.
• Assess, diagnose and manage a broad range of acute and chronic medical conditions.
• Prescribe safely and appropriately in accordance with current guidance and practice procedures.
• Participate in the practice on-call system and contribute to clinical governance and quality improvement.
• Support teaching and supervision of GP trainees and medical students.
