Job summary

The Methodist Church in Britain seeks a salaried GP for Billingshurst Surgery, a busy dispensing practice serving nearly 14,000 patients. The post involves a clinical caseload with telephone and face-to-face appointments, home visits and on-call duties.

Four to six sessions weekly, with an emphasis on frailty and care of older people. GMC registration and NHS Performers List entry are required for eligibility.

Qualifications

• GP role requiring registration with GMC and inclusion on NHS Performers List.
• Strong clinical governance and audit skills.
• Ability to lead on disease areas and staff training.

Responsibilities

• Manage a clinical caseload across general medical services in primary care.
• Hold telephone and face-to-face consultations, including history, examination, diagnosis, treatment and referral.
• Provide GP services under the GMS contract, including child health surveillance.
• Carry out home visits, repeat prescriptions and documentation.
• Lead on key disease areas and QOF monitoring; supervise staff and students.
• Prepare prescriptions and manage Schedule 9 certificates where applicable.
• Take over patient care from Out of Hours on shared rota until 18:30.
• Participate in governance, audits and Significant Event Analysis.
• Maintain clear consultation notes and collect audit data.
• Take part in 360-degree feedback and annual appraisal.
• Adhere to confidentiality, data protection and health and safety policies.
