The Methodist Church in Britain seeks a salaried GP for Billingshurst Surgery, a busy dispensing practice serving nearly 14,000 patients. The post involves a clinical caseload with telephone and face-to-face appointments, home visits and on-call duties.

Four to six sessions weekly, with an emphasis on frailty and care of older people. GMC registration and NHS Performers List entry are required for eligibility.

A salaried GP post at Billingshurst Surgery, a busy dispensing practice with nearly 14,000 patients. The work centres on a clinical caseload covering a wide range of primary care needs, with telephone and face-to-face consultations, home visits and on-call duty. The role runs for 4 to 6 sessions a week and welcomes an interest in frailty and the health of older people. Applicants need GMC registration and a place on the NHS Performers List.

What the job involves

• Manage a clinical caseload across general medical services in primary care
• Hold telephone and face-to-face consultations, covering history, examination, diagnosis, treatment and referral
• Provide all GP services under the GMS contract, including child health surveillance
• Carry out home visits, repeat prescriptions, test results, letters and reports for the practice
• Lead on key disease areas, including QOF monitoring, treatment, staff training and prescribing
• Support and supervise registrars, nurses, GP trainees and medical students
• Compile and issue computer-generated prescriptions and provide free certification under Schedule 9
• Take over patient care from the Out of Hours service on a shared rota until 18.30
• Take part in clinical governance, audit, QOF and Significant Event Analysis
• Keep clear, timely consultation notes and collect audit data
• Take part in 360-degree feedback and annual appraisal
• Work within practice policies on confidentiality, data protection, infection control and health and safety
