Job summary

High Pastures Surgery is recruiting two salaried GPs to serve a large patient list. One post covers six sessions per week and the other four, with a duty rota from 10.30am to 6.30pm. The practice emphasizes autonomous decision-making and comprehensive patient care within NHS frameworks.

The role requires MBBS or equivalent, full GMC registration, and ongoing professional development. Experience in primary care and IT systems like EMIS is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified GP eligible to work in NHS general practice.
• MBBS or equivalent medical degree.
• Evidence of ongoing personal and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Make autonomous clinical decisions on presenting problems.
• Assess patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
• Keep clear, contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
• Prescribe from the practice formulary or generically where clinically appropriate.
• Complete checks and record data to support QOF and GMS quality points.
• Manage a personal list of 1,500 patients based on six sessions.
• Take part in the duty doctor rota, currently 1 in 6, between 10.30am and 6.30pm.
• Deliver 12 face-to-face appointments per session, plus agreed tasks, documents and scripts.
• Be normally available between 8.00am and 6.00pm each working day, with flexible start times.
• Attend weekly lunchtime clinical and training meetings for MDT discussion and peer support.
• Identify opportunities for service improvement and clinical innovation.
• Develop special interests that align with practice and community needs.
