Job summary

Penketh Health Centre is seeking a salaried GP to cover a retiring partner within a large multidisciplinary team. Core duties include face-to-face and telephone consultations, home and care home visits, and signing prescriptions.

Sessions run 4–10 per week from Wednesday to Friday, with no weekend work, and there is involvement in teaching GP registrars and students. The post requires GMC registration, inclusion on the GP performers list, and annual appraisal and revalidation.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified GP
• General practice (Vocational Training Scheme) training

Responsibilities

• Carry out face-to-face surgery consultations
• Carry out telephone consultations and handle queries
• Visit patients at home and in care homes
• Check and sign prescriptions and deal with medication queries
• Cover the duty clinic on a shared rotation
• Take a share of the weekday extended access session
• Deal with paperwork and correspondence promptly
• Carry out clinical administration
• Refer patients for specialist input
• Record clear consultation notes to agreed standards, including QOF coding
