Main duties of the job

In this role, you will provide high-quality medical care to a diverse patient population, managing a wide range of acute and long-term conditions within a general practice setting. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver coordinated, patient-centred care while also contributing to service development and quality improvement within the practice.

We have a strong, enthusiastic team consisting of 5 GPs, 1 Nurse Consultant, 1 ANP, 1 Clinical Pharmacist and an experienced nursing team, all working together from modern, purpose-built premises.

Job responsibilities

Salaried GP key responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking clinical consultations, both face-to-face and remote, for a wide range of acute and chronic conditions
  • Assessing, diagnosing, and managing patients appropriately, including prescribing and referral where necessary
  • Providing ongoing care for patients with long-term conditions, ensuring continuity and holistic management
  • Maintaining accurate, timely, and clinically appropriate medical records
  • Working collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to support coordinated patient care
  • Participating in practice meetings, clinical governance activities, and service development initiatives
  • Contributing to quality improvement, audit, and patient safety processes
  • Supporting the practices commitment to education, including involvement in training and mentoring where appropriate
Practice Responsibilities
Teamwork & Collaboration
  • Work as part of a supportive, multidisciplinary team including GPs, GP trainees, ANPs, ACPs, pharmacists, nurses, HCAs, and administrative staff
  • Actively participate in weekly practice meetings and LTIs
  • Contribute to case discussions, shared learning, and continuous service development
  • Provide clinical leadership, advice, and support to colleagues as appropriate
Enhanced Services, IIF & QOF
  • Support delivery of QOF, IIF, and locally commissioned services
  • Play an active role in chronic disease management and population health initiatives
  • Contribute to clinical audits, quality improvement, and data quality processes
Governance & Compliance
  • Adhere to practice policies including confidentiality, safeguarding, prescribing, infection prevention and control, and data protection
  • Identify, manage, and report clinical and non-clinical risks appropriately
  • Maintain full compliance with GMC, CQC, and NHS England standards
