NTGP in the North Trafford area is recruiting a salaried GP to join a multi-disciplinary team across two sites (Chester Road and Seymour Grove). The role covers 4 sessions per week with face-to-face, telephone and e-consultations, and includes duty doctor days and home visits on a rota.

The successful candidate will work within an established team, guided by GMC Good Medical Practice and NHS guidelines, with access to EMIS Web and DOCMAN for digital records and workflow.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct face-to-face, telephone and online consultations with patients of all ages

  • Manage patients with complex or long-term conditions (e.g. diabetes, COPD)
  • Make referrals to secondary care and other services when necessary

Job summary

NTGP has a fantastic opportunity for a salaried GP to join our multi-disciplinary team. The position will require GP sessions from both locations (on different days). We are flexible with sessions available and looking for a GP to cover 4 sessions per week. Preferred days are Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays. You will be consulting with patients using face to face, telephone & via e-consultation methods. Our practice uses AccuRx or patients requests, this will include duty doctor days and home visits on a rota basis. You will be responsible for the provision of medical services to our patient population managing a caseload dealing with a wide range of health needs. You will be supporting & supported by the wide range of clinical and non-clinical team within the practice. We may close the advert if we have higher number of applicants before deadline date.

Main duties of the job

Clinical Responsibilities. To act at all times in accordance with the precepts of the GMC's Good Medical Practice. To assess the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems. To screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness. To provide counselling and health education as appropriate. To record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards. To prescribe, in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary, all local and national guidelines, appropriately for the presenting condition. To provide support for other clinicians such as nurses, nurse practitioners and health care assistants including the signing of prescriptions where appropriate.

We are large forward thinking practice of 15,000+ patients, providing quality healthcare and outcomes for our patients in the North Trafford area. We operate from two sites Chester Road and Seymour Grove. The team at NTGP comprises of 3 GP Partners, 9 Salaried GPs, 1 Physician Associates, 3 Pharmacists, 1 FCP and 6 Nursing staff along with non-clinical team of 30+ staff led by the Business Manager. Our practices have been rated as Good by CQC and we take pride in delivering quality care to our patients and have a strong training and personal development ethos. We are part of North Trafford Primary Care Network. We are using EMIS Web and DOCMAN as our clinical system along with Ask My GP to provide digital platform to our patients.

Job responsibilities
Clinical Duties

  • Excellent clinical communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Committed to the delivery of high quality clinical care within a framework of Clinical Governance.
  • Awareness of local Safeguarding policies and relevant legislative guidance.
  • Knowledge and understanding of a range of NHS primary care and community services.
  • Integrated approach to team working and a willingness to fully participate in Practice Meetings.
  • Good presentation skills and the ability to share good practice
  • Proof of vaccination and immunity status in accordance with the Department of Health guidelines.
  • Driving licence

Other Responsibilities within the Organisation
Essential
