Job summary

The Methodist Church in Britain is seeking a salaried GP for Llandrindod Wells Medical Practice, a teaching practice serving around 11,000 patients. • Maintain accurate electronic records and participate in audits.
• Provide supervision and training to colleagues.

Job description

A salaried GP post of four to eight sessions at Llandrindod Wells Medical Practice, a training practice with around 11,000 patients and a 15-bed community hospital. The work covers the full range of primary care GP duties, including face-to-face and remote consultations, home visits, repeat prescriptions, referrals and supervision of colleagues. The practice has five partners and a wide multidisciplinary team, and it runs 15-minute appointments with protected admin time and a total triage model. Full GMC registration, MRCGP, medical performers list registration and enhanced DBS are needed.

What the job involves

• Consulting face-to-face, by telephone and online in line with the agreed schedule
• Exercising independent clinical judgement with self-presenting and referred patients
• Taking part in the duty and hospital rota, including on-call sessions
• Making home visits and attending virtual ward meetings
• Reviewing repeat prescriptions and managing clinical queries
• Handling test results, reports and medical examinations for external organisations
• Producing electronic prescriptions and prescribing safely
• Making NHS and private referrals under local and national pathways
• Keeping accurate electronic records and collecting audit data
• Supporting colleagues' development through clinical supervision and training
• Maintaining training, appraisal and revalidation requirements
• Following practice policies on equality, confidentiality, information governance and health and safety
