Zusammenfassung

Ringland Medical Practice is seeking salaried GPs for 6-8 sessions per week across 3–4 days. The post includes surgery and telephone consultations, home visits, repeat prescribing and assessment of undiagnosed problems within a multidisciplinary team.

The practice is a GP training site; GMC registration and a CCT in General Practice are required. Applicants may cover other surgeries, in person or remotely, as needed.

Ringland Medical Practice is recruiting two salaried GPs for 6-8 sessions a week over three or four days, mainly at Lliswerry surgery. The work covers surgery and telephone consultations, home visits, repeat prescribing and assessing undiagnosed problems within a multidisciplinary team. Post-holders may be asked to cover the practice's other surgeries, in person or remotely, and the practice is an approved GP training site. Fit depends on a medical degree and a CCT in General Practice.

What the job involves

• Surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, and home visits, per the practice timetable
• Making autonomous clinical decisions on presenting problems, including referrals from colleagues within the practice
• Assessing patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
• Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
• Developing care plans with patients in line with current disease management protocols
• Providing counselling and health education
• Recording clear, contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
• Checking and signing repeat prescriptions, and handling queries, paperwork and correspondence promptly
• Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions
• Prescribing from the practice formulary, or generically, where clinically appropriate
• Collecting data for audit
• Undertaking the normal duties of a GP working in primary care
