Job description

Salaried GP vacancy at Ridgeway View Family Practice, a surgery of around 15,000 patients, arising from a retirement. The work mixes face-to-face and telephone consultations with admin, occasional home visits, supervising registrars and students, and care home oversight. Eight sessions a week may be split across two roles, with Friday attendance essential and duty doctor days, roughly fortnightly, requiring presence until 6.30pm. A UK performers list entry is needed, and the post starts as soon as possible.

What the job involves

• Face-to-face and telephone consultations
• Occasional home visits, including end-of-life patients where a GP is needed
• Own referrals and administrative work
• Filing lab results, your own and a share of absent colleagues'
• Signing prescriptions, your own and a share of absent colleagues'
• Supervising registrars and medical students
• Oversight of ACP and paramedic colleagues
• Managing care for patients in one of seven care homes, with occasional ward rounds and liaison with visiting colleagues
• Duty doctor triage of online consultations and booking same-day slots, roughly one day a fortnight
