Job summary

The National Theatre is seeking a Safety Advisor to join its Safety Team. You will provide practical health, safety and fire advice across departments, supporting construction, refurbishment and maintenance projects while promoting safe working practices.

You will build strong relationships, help teams understand risks and contribute to continual safety improvement through investigations, inspections and training delivery.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent Level 3 health and safety qualification.
• Experience providing practical health and safety advice in a construction, facilities, entertainment or similar operational environment.
• Knowledge of fire safety principles and experience supporting fire safety arrangements in the workplace.
• Experience assisting with risk assessments, incident investigations and safety inspections.
• Experience delivering basic health and safety training or toolbox talks.

Job description

We are looking for a Safety Advisor to join the National Theatre's Safety team.

The Safety Team works across the National Theatre to support departments in creating safe places to work while enabling creativity and operational excellence.

As a Safety Advisor, you will work with managers, supervisors, project teams and contractors to provide practical advice on health, safety and fire matters across a wide range of activities. A significant part of the role will involve supporting construction, refurbishment and maintenance projects, as well as helping maintain effective fire safety arrangements.

You will build positive working relationships across the organisation, helping colleagues understand and manage risks, encouraging good safety practices and supporting continual improvement.

The successful candidates will have the following:

• NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent Level 3 health and safety qualification.
• Experience providing practical health and safety advice in a construction, facilities, entertainment or similar operational environment.
• Knowledge of fire safety principles and experience supporting fire safety arrangements in the workplace.
