Job summary

Barking & Dagenham College is seeking a Safeguarding Coordinator to join our Safeguarding team. Reporting to the Head of Safeguarding and/or the Director of Student Welfare & Support, you will ensure safeguarding tasks are carried out to a high standard within agreed timescales.

You will act as a first point of contact for safeguarding enquiries, implement the college's safeguarding policy, maintain a caseload of referrals, coordinate external referrals and provide guidance to staff to ensure

Qualifications

• DSL qualification or willingness to undertake.
• Experience in safeguarding within education settings.
• Strong communication and collaboration with external agencies.
• Ability to manage complex workload and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide a first point of contact for safeguarding enquiries from staff, parents or professionals.
• Implement Barking and Dagenham College's safeguarding policy and procedures.
• Act as a Safeguarding Officer and maintain a caseload of safeguarding referrals.
• Initiate and refer students to outside agencies and coordinate referrals.
• Provide guidance to staff to ensure due process per college policies.
