Job summary

The South Hampshire College Group is seeking a dedicated Safeguarding Officer for term-time activities (40 weeks). You will triage safeguarding concerns, support students, and liaise with external agencies to safeguard student wellbeing.

Key duties include maintaining records, attending multiagency meetings, and developing interventions to improve emotional health. Strong experience with safeguarding processes and complex caseloads is essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of safeguarding processes and procedures.
• Experience supporting vulnerable students.
• Experience working with external agencies and stakeholders.
• Ability to manage complex caseloads.

Responsibilities

• Triage and assess safeguarding, mental health and vulnerabilities; refer as needed.
• Provide one-to-one support to students on safeguarding concerns.
• Coordinate external/intervention activities with agencies and parents.
• Support student health, wellbeing initiatives and enrichment events.
• Attend multiagency meetings and maintain case records.
