Job summary

Sussex Police is seeking an ASA to join the Horsham Iris safeguarding team. The role supports investigations into children and vulnerable adults, handling redaction, evidence preparation and file management.

The successful candidate will assist DC/PIP2 and PCs, prepare materials for CPS and court, and work within GDPR guidelines. The post is full time, Mon-Fri 0800-1600hrs, with scope for flexible hours and training.

Qualifications

• Able to work calmly, methodically and accurately, under pressure and with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills to meet strict timescales.
• Good written and oral communication, professional with enquiries.
• Experience of working in a team and contributing to unit objectives.
• Understanding of GDPR and management of confidential information.
• Experience with databases and spreadsheets and creating management information.
• Able to produce clear, legible data reports and evidential statements.
• Willing to undertake training to become proficient in IT and multimedia systems.
• Able to attend court if required and account for actions undertaken to generate exhibits.

Responsibilities

• Assist with investigations for children and adults in Horsham Iris team.
• Redact CADS/Custody records and label case files accurately.
• Clip videos and send links to victims and witnesses to upload evidence.
• Assist with file builds and casefile organisation under direction of the OIC.
• Prepare files for CPS and court and support with safeguarding procedures.
• Work with NICE and safeguarding colleagues as part of the team.
