Job summary

Linuxcareers is looking for a SaaS Operations Engineer to enhance our global SaaS payment platforms. You will manage service restoration, develop uptime reporting, and configure monitoring tools.

The ideal candidate has server administration experience, a strong grasp of SQL and automation tools, and is eager to thrive in a technical environment. Fluency in German is a nice-to-have.

This SaaS Operations Engineer role is part of a newly centralised Platform Operations team responsible for running and improving a suite of global SaaS-based payment platforms. The ideal candidate will have real-world global operations experience, be focused on repeatable processes and automation, and understand the requirements for scale, resilience, security, and availability.

What You’ll Do

• Scope, configure, and regularly review alerting and monitoring to ensure rapid notification and resolution of production incidents
• Manage service restoration during incidents and create, validate, and update service recovery runbooks
• Configure and deliver new services to the platform, and create runbooks for standard changes
• Develop availability and uptime reporting and drive improvements in platform uptime
• Participate in out-of-hours on-call rotations to ensure rapid incident response for production issues

What You Need

• Server administration experience on Windows Server and Linux environments
• Experience working with SQL, SQL Server, and API technologies
• Ability to automate tasks using scripts or automation tools such as Jenkins
• Ability to create and follow Standard Operating Procedures
• Strong desire to work in a technical environment and ability to learn quickly

Nice to Have

• SWIFT and/or SIC operations knowledge
• Formal training in Computer Science or IT
• Experience configuring monitoring tools and implementing alerting with tools such as Elastic or Grafana
• Fluency in German in addition to English
