Job summary

South Eastern Regional College invites applications for a Finance and Information Systems Officer at Lisburn Campus. This permanent 30-hour-per-week role oversees management information systems and financial procedures to maximise funding for Training and Apprenticeship programmes.

The post requires strong data handling skills, experience with MIS and Excel, and the ability to report accurately to senior managers, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement across college operations.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
  • GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above, or equivalent.
  • Two years’ experience working within a Training Organisation.
  • Two years proven experience in the operation of a dedicated MIS.
  • Two years financial planning, budget or accounts experience.
  • One year’s supervisory experience.
  • Experience in using MIS, Microsoft Packages or other specialist software for record keeping and data collection.
  • Proficient in the use of Excel or alternative spreadsheet packages.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Implement MIS and financial procedures to maximise funding for Training and Apprenticeship programmes.
  • Assist with integrity, completeness and reporting of data.
  • Support management information needs to ensure efficient operation of programmes.

We currently have a vacancy for a Finance Information Systems Officer

JOB PURPOSE

The post holder will be responsible for the implementation of the relevant management information and financial procedures, to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the Training and Apprenticeship programmes in order to maximise funding. This will include assisting with matters pertaining to the integrity, completeness and reporting of data.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
  • 1. Hold a level 3 qualification or equivalent.
  • 2. Hold GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above, or equivalent.
  • 3. Have a minimum of two years’ experience working within a Training Organisation.
  • 4. Have two years proven experience in the operation of a dedicated Management Information System.
  • 5. Have two years financial planning, budget or accounts experience.
  • 6. Have one year’s supervisory experience.
