Job summary

Din Tai Fung is seeking passionate Commis Chefs to join teams in Covent Garden, Centre Point, Selfridges, and Canary Wharf. You will support food preparation across Wok and Dim Sum, cooking Taiwanese, Chinese and Asian dishes while learning our recipes and techniques.

We offer competitive pay of £15–£17 per hour inclusive of tronc, 40–48 hours per week, free staff meals, 28 days of holiday and structured career progression with training and wellbeing support.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Commis Chef or similar is desirable.
• Passion for cooking and interest in Asian cuisine.
• Good knife skills and food preparation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare fresh ingredients and support daily kitchen operations.
• Assist across Wok, Dim Sum, steaming and other kitchen sections.
• Prepare and cook dishes to recipe, quality and presentation standards.
• Develop skills in Asian, Chinese and Taiwanese cooking techniques.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety.
• Work efficiently with the kitchen team during busy service.

As we continue to grow across the UK, we're looking for passionate Commis Chefs to join our teams in Covent Garden, Centre Point, Selfridges, and Canary Wharf.

The Role

As a Commis Chef, you'll support food preparation and service across Wok, Dim Sum and other kitchen sections. You'll prepare high-quality Taiwanese, Chinese and Asian dishes while developing your culinary skills and learning Din Tai Fung's recipes and techniques.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience as a Commis Chef, Kitchen Assistant, Chef or similar is desirable.
• Passion for cooking and interest in Asian cuisine.
• Good food preparation and knife skills.
• Reliable, hardworking and comfortable in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Positive team player with a willingness to learn.
• Wok, Dim Sum, Chinese or Taiwanese cuisine experience is desirable but not essential — full training provided.
• Flexible to work evenings, weekends and public holidays, with some shifts finishing at 10:30 PM.
