Job summary

Old Swinford Services Ltd invites applications for an enthusiastic Games Coach (Rugby) to enhance the school’s afternoon rugby and after-school coaching. The role works with the Director of Sport and Head of Rugby to develop the rugby programme for pupils from Year 7 to Year 13.

This zero-hour contract offers up to 25 hours weekly, including Saturday sessions. Applicants should hold RFU Level 1 and demonstrate safeguarding commitment, strong communication, and the ability to lead a year-group

Qualifications

• RFU Level 1 coaching qualification or equivalent.
• Ability to coach pupils across a range of ages and abilities.
• Lead and manage a year-group rugby programme.
• Competence in refereeing junior Rugby Union.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality Rugby Union coaching to pupils from Year 7 to Year 13.
• Plan and deliver age-appropriate rugby training sessions.
• Lead a Year group as Lead Coach and provide pastoral support.
• Refereeing junior Rugby Union fixtures and ensure safety.
• Support inter-school fixtures and promote positive sport values.
• Collaborate with Director of Sport and PE staff to develop rugby provision.
• Attend meetings and safeguarding procedures.
