Job summary

Old Swinford Services Ltd in Stourbridge is seeking a Games Coach (Rugby) to deliver the afternoon games programme, after‑school coaching, co‑curricular sport and fixtures. You will work with the Director of Sport and Head of Rugby to develop rugby across Years 7–13.

The role is a zero hour, term-time post with up to 25 hours weekly; salary to be agreed with qualifications and experience. Workplace pension via NEST is offered. Safeguarding commitment is essential.

Qualifications

• RFU Level 1 coaching qualification is required.
• Ability to coach across a range of ages and abilities.
• Lead and manage a year-group rugby programme.
• Competence in refereeing junior Rugby Union.
• Strong communication, organisation and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of children and young people.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a wider sports and pastoral team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality Rugby Union coaching to pupils from Year 7 to Year 13.
• Plan, organise and deliver rugby training sessions matching age and ability.
• Lead coaching for an allocated year group with pastoral support.
• Referee junior Rugby Union fixtures safely and according to laws.
• Support competitive inter-school sporting opportunities for all ages.
• Mentor pupils and promote teamwork, discipline and development.
• Be a positive ambassador for the Rugby Department and school ethos.
• Contribute to a positive and inclusive rugby culture within the school.
• Collaborate with Director of Sport and Head of Rugby for program development.
