Job description

The post holder will join the successful Sport provision at UCS College Group, supporting the continued development and delivery of high-quality rugby opportunities for students across the Group.

The post holder will play a proactive role in developing rugby provision that supports student participation, performance, progression and personal development. The role will contribute to the College Group's ambition to provide an inclusive, ambitious and high-quality sporting environment where students can develop both on and off the field.

The post holder will be responsible for delivering high-quality rugby coaching and will contribute to the planning, development and continuous improvement of the Group's rugby programme. This will include supporting competitive teams, player development and appropriate progression pathways, while ensuring that rugby provision aligns with the wider Team UCS and Sport strategy.

A key element of the role will be developing and maintaining effective local, regional and national partnerships with relevant external organisations, including the Rugby Football Union (RFU), Association of Colleges Sport, Somerset Activity Sports Partnership, National Governing Bodies, local schools, community organisations, and semi-professional and professional rugby clubs. These relationships will support student opportunities, talent development, participation, progression and the continued profile of rugby across UCS College Group.

The post holder will be expected to bring a proactive and developmental approach to the role, identifying opportunities to strengthen the rugby offer, increase participation and performance, develop partnerships and contribute to the continued growth and improvement of Sport across UCS College Group.
