Job summary

Spectrum IT Recruitment is seeking an experienced RTL Design Team Lead to deliver complex FPGA and ASIC IP while leading a hardware design team and staying hands-on with engineering work.

The role spans RTL design, technical leadership and collaboration with Algorithm, System Architecture and Software teams to shape high-performance hardware solutions for next-generation communications.

Qualifications

• Experience leading hardware design teams
• Strong RTL design experience with Verilog/SystemVerilog
• Proven track record delivering FPGA/ASIC projects
• Ability to optimise timing and hardware resources
• Knowledge of power-management techniques and timing analysis
• Experience with industry-standard EDA tools and simulations
• Experience with development lifecycles including Agile/Waterfall
• Ability to capture requirements and maintain traceability
• Experience with UVM verification advantageous
• Exposure to high-speed interfaces and signal-processing domains

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical delivery of complex FPGA and ASIC design projects
• Provide hands-on technical leadership across RTL design and implementation
• Mentor and develop a high-performing hardware design team
• Contribute to the technical roadmap for future generations of the technology
• Collaborate with Algorithm, System Architecture and Software teams to translate requirements into hardware deliverables
• Oversee RTL designs targeting FPGA and ASIC using industry-standard techniques
• Drive timing, resource, throughput and power optimisations
• Support verification activities including UVM-based testbenches
• Develop and improve engineering methodologies and design processes
• Explore opportunities to integrate AI tools into engineering workflows
• Engage with customers during presales and product development
