Job summary

Speedy Hire Plc. is seeking an experienced RSC+ Manager to lead our Reading depot. You will manage a busy team, drive customer service excellence, and ensure effective operational control and safety compliance.

You'll be responsible for day-to-day leadership, P&L awareness, and delivering the ESG commitments while maintaining flexibility around working hours and a strong health and safety culture.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing a team and delivering customer-focused depot operations.
• Ability to prioritise workload and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrable Health & Safety practice understanding and implementation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily depot operations to ensure customer satisfaction and service levels.
• Lead and develop the depot team, driving performance and cost control.
• Manage budgets and P&L responsibilities for the Reading depot.

Role - RSC+ Manager

Location - Reading

Days of work - Mon - Fri, Times 07:30 - 17:00 = 42 hours per week

We are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable RSC+ Manager preferably with a background in hire or engineering to manage our busy depot in Reading.

As a Depot Manager you will ensure that the customer is at the heart of everything we do, you will proactively manage the team, have the independence of running your own depot, drive the business forward and continue to deliver the first class customer service that makes Speedy the best in our sector!

What you’ll need

• Experience in managing a team
• Customer focused
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Ability to prioritise work load and work under pressure to strict deadlines
• Demonstrate understanding and experience of managing Health and Safety practices at work
• Ability to understand and work with profit and loss accounts and budgets
• Capability to take ownership and responsibility
• Ability to adapt to individual and operational change in a diverse and fast-paced organisation
• PC literate
• General knowledge of the construction industry and trades including products.
• Previous experience of the hire process would be an advantage.
• Ability to support your business unit/team to deliver our ESG Strategy – Decade to Deliver.
• Driving licence
