Job summary

LJ Recruitment is partnering with a growing independent hospitality group to recruit a CDP / Junior Sous Chef for a multi-site roving role across Colchester and surrounding venues.

The role offers a full-time position with £30,000-£35,000 salary including tronc. You will work across multiple sites, supporting different kitchen teams and maintaining high standards with fresh ingredients.

Qualifications

• Experience as a CDP, Junior Sous or similar senior kitchen role.
• Passion for fresh food and good cooking.
• Knowledge of kitchen standards and food hygiene.
• Ability to work under pressure during busy services.
• Positive, hands-on attitude and good communication.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook fresh ingredients to a high standard.
• Work across different sections of the kitchen as required.
• Support Sous and Head Chef with smooth kitchen operation.
• Maintain food quality, presentation and consistency.
• Lead and support kitchen teams across sites.
• Ensure food safety, hygiene and kitchen standards are maintained.
• Assist with prep, service and close-down.
• Help develop less experienced team members.
• Adapt to different kitchens, menus and teams.
