Job summary

Mercor is assembling a panel of chemistry and chemical safety experts to red-team frontier AI models. You will write prompts that sit on the line between routine process chemistry and restricted inquiries, and you will judge model outputs against a defined policy standard.

You will also draft reference answers and the technical reasoning behind them. The role emphasizes writing-intensive work, with a clear rationale for every judgment.

Qualifications

• Background in chemistry with bench-to-plant experience
• Experience writing technical material for non-specialists is preferred
• Ability to judge routine professional questions vs. sensitive requests is essential
• Familiarity with GMP or equivalent quality environments is a plus

Responsibilities

• Write challenging prompts across benign/dual-use/adversarial levels for chemistry topics
• Evaluate model responses against a set policy standard
• Draft reference answers and the technical reasoning explainers
