Job summary

Mercor is assembling a panel of chemistry and chemical safety experts to red-team frontier AI models, testing whether a model can judge misuse potential of a technical request — answering legitimate questions fully while refusing dangerous ones.

You will write prompts across benign, dual-use, and adversarial levels, evaluate responses against a policy standard, and craft the reference answers with detailed reasoning.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and developing synthetic routes in pharma/agro/fine chemicals.
• Strong background in process chemistry, reaction engineering, and impurity control.
• Proven ability to scale from bench to pilot to plant with safety review.
• Familiarity with precursor sourcing, regulated chemistry, or registration.
• Experience with GMP environments and method development/troubleshooting.
