Job summary

Brighton & Hove City Council is recruiting a Homelessness Prevention Officer to lead the front-facing response to rough sleeping, co-located with the Enhanced Support Team. You will work in partnership to reduce rough sleeping and help residents move into settled accommodation, applying the Housing Act 1996 and the Homelessness Reduction Act in a trauma-informed, person-centred way.

The role involves cross-service collaboration, home visits, and engaging with clients with complex needs.

Qualifications

• Experience in housing issues and homelessness services.
• Knowledge of Housing Act 1996 and the Homelessness Reduction Act.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Council’s front facing response to the Rough Sleeping Programme.
• Work with a multi-disciplinary team to support residents into settled accommodation.
• Apply housing law in day-to-day work with a person-centred, trauma-informed approach.
• Engage with services to improve outcomes for people experiencing homelessness.
