Bury Council is seeking a full-time Homeless Assessment Officer for a 12-month fixed-term contract within the Homeless Assessment and Support Team. The post focuses on assisting rough sleepers, accessing accommodation and support services, and reducing homelessness in the borough.

The role involves being the first point of contact for customers via multiple channels and ensuring interventions align with current legislation and council policies.

Qualifications

• Interpret and apply homeless legislation.
• Experience in providing housing and homelessness advice.
• Knowledge of available housing options.
• Ability to work flexibly and place the customer at the centre of service delivery.
• Working knowledge of Information Technology.

Responsabilités

• Be the first point of contact for customers via multiple channels (in person, phone, written, online).
• Identify solutions to housing problems and provide positive prevention outcomes.
• Assist rough sleepers to access accommodation and support services.
• Fulfil the council's legal obligations in relation to statutory responsibilities and policy procedures.
