We are looking to recruit five Rough Sleeper Navigators (5.0 FTE) to join our team, on a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract. They will provide dedicated support to individuals experiencing rough sleeping and multiple disadvantage across the following boroughs:
A full, valid UK driving licence and the ability and willingness to drive as part of the role.
We are SPEAR, a charity working tirelessly to end homelessness across South West London and beyond. We believe homelessness should be rare, brief, and non-recurring, and we work every day to make that a reality. Our services include street outreach, assessment hubs, supported accommodation, and tenancy support, helping people move off the streets and into safe, secure housing. We take a person-centred, trauma-informed approach, building trust and supporting people to achieve long-term stability and independence.
You’ll have experience working with people experiencing homelessness, rough sleeping and complex needs, providing person-centred support, managing risk and monitoring outcomes. With a good understanding of mental health, substance use, trauma and safeguarding, you’ll build trusting relationships, advocate for clients and work collaboratively with partner agencies. You’re organised, compassionate and resilient, comfortable managing a caseload, and willing to work flexibly, including some outreach outside standard hours. A full UK driving licence is essential.
The Rough Sleeper Navigator will provide intensive, person-centred support to people sleeping rough with multiple, complex needs, helping them move into appropriate accommodation and towards long-term independence. Working closely with the Outreach Team and partner services, you’ll act as a dedicated point of contact, carrying out health and social care assessments and developing personalised support plans covering housing, health, substance use, benefits, debt and employment. You’ll offer practical and emotional support, advocate for clients and stay with them from the street into settled accommodation, equipping them to sustain it.
At SPEAR, we welcome and encourage applications from everyone, regardless of age, disability, gender, ethnicity, religion and sexual orientation. We are facing diverse problems, so we need diverse people to tackle them.
