Job summary

Stockport NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Therapy Assistant Rotational, Band 2, full-time (37.5 hours per week) to work across four inpatient specialities: Trauma and Orthopaedics, Medicine, Surgery and Stroke services. You will rotate every four months, supporting Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists with direct patient care under supervision.

Qualifications

• Fluency in spoken and written English.
• NVQ level 2 or equivalent in Diagnostic and Therapy Support.
• Experience in Healthcare/Allied Health Professional/ Social care setting (recommended).

Responsibilities

• Partake in a four monthly rotation across inpatient therapy services.
• Assist with patient therapy activities under the direction of qualified therapists (OT/PT).
• Prepare patients for treatment and ensure a safe environment.
• Report back to therapists on work undertaken.
• Monitor stock and maintain documentation.
• Assist patients with prescribed practice.
• Support therapy teams by running activity groups when required.
• Assist in communication screens when required.
