Job summary

West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Band 3 Physiotherapy Assistant to join the Rotational Physiotherapy service within Inpatient Therapies. The role offers rotation through stroke, medical, elderly care, orthopaedics and surgical wards, with structured training and peer learning.

The post requires prior healthcare experience (preferred in acute settings) and strong communication and patient handling skills.

Qualifications

• Previous healthcare experience, ideally in an acute setting.
• Good patient handling and communication skills are essential.
• Willingness to learn new skills and engage in peer learning and training.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and administrative support to qualified staff delivering patient care.
• Carry out prescribed treatments and progress patients within agreed limits; some tasks unsupervised.
• Work in ward-based settings to assist patients, teach and progress therapies, and prepare environment/equipment.
