Job summary

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust is seeking a Rotational Pharmacy Assistant to train toward a QCF Level 2 in Pharmacy Services. You will rotate across Dispensary, Ward services, Stores and the Aseptic unit at Coventry and Rugby sites, developing skills in dispensing, stock control and patient care.

The role requires good communication, organisation, and IT abilities, with an emphasis on teamwork within a diverse pharmacy team.

Qualifications

• Training to obtain a QCF Level 2 in Pharmacy Services; or already qualified QCF Level 2 Pharmacy Assistant.
• You will rotate through Dispensary, Ward services and Stores; learn and train as required.
• Good communication, organisational and IT skills; able to work in a changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Support dispensing and supply of medicines to patients, wards and departments under supervision.
• Carry out requisitioning, distribution and receipt of stock in all pharmacy departments and wards.
• Store and retrieve medications using automated systems and robots within the pharmacy.
• Provide information to patients and staff on drug dispatch and expected waiting times.
• Keep work areas clean, rotate stock and follow hygiene procedures.
• Assist with clerical duties and work across departments during peak periods.
• Engage in personal development and participate in training.
