Job summary

Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group is seeking an Occupational Therapist to participate in a rotational scheme across inpatient and community settings within the Dorset Integrated Care System. The post focuses on Discharge to Assess and Home First principles, consolidating core OT skills and delivering autonomous practice in various clinical environments.

Candidates should have HCPC registration (or be pending) with a pre-reg degree in Occupational Therapy.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the OT process and its application in clinical practice
• Ability to carry out all aspects of the post including patient handling and equipment carriage
• Use of evidence-based practice and risk assessments in practice
• Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team and demonstrate organisational values and behaviours
• Excellent written and verbal communication and the ability to organise and prioritise

Responsibilities

• Participate in the rotational scheme across inpatient and community settings
• Contribute to the Dorset Integrated Care System and Discharge to Assess/Home First principles
• Develop and consolidate OT core skills across clinical areas
• Provide autonomous OT interventions under supervision as required
• Participate in weekend working and extended hours as needed to ensure service delivery
