Job summary

Babcock invites graduates to join a two-year Mechanical Engineering Graduate Programme based in Rosyth, Scotland. You’ll rotate across projects every 3–6 months, contributing to design, production, testing, and sustainment of naval and marine systems. A structured development programme supports you toward professional registration.

The role offers a minimum starting salary of £35,000, with relocation supported as needed and clear pathways to permanent roles within the engineering function.

Qualifications

• Must have or be on track to obtain a BEng or MEng in Mechanical, Structural, Motorsport, Materials, Mechatronics, Engine Systems, Welding, Automotive, or AeroMechanical.
• Security clearance BPSS and Security Check (SC) is required for this programme, per GOV.UK guidance.

Responsibilities

• Rotate through placements every 3–6 months over two years to gain diverse project experience.
• Contribute across the engineering lifecycle from concept design to in-service support and decommissioning.
• Develop technical and leadership skills to progress towards Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status.
