Job summary

Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust is recruiting a Band 7 Rotational Occupational Therapist to work across the Hyper-Acute Stroke Unit, Acute Stroke Unit, Stroke Rehabilitation and Early Supported Discharge services, with opportunities across Neurosciences. The role involves high-level clinical work and MDT collaboration across several sites in the ramford area.

Qualifications

• Contribute to development, implementation and monitoring of stroke and neurological services.
• Band 7 rotation includes: Hyper Acute Stroke Unit (HASU)/Acute Stroke Unit (ASU), Stroke Rehabilitation, Early Supported discharge (ESD) Stroke Service and Acute Neurosciences.
• Provide specialist assessment, treatment and advice within your area of speciality.
• Offer highly specialist guidance to MDT on matters relating to your specialist area.
• Plan, co-ordinate and evaluate OT service in acute stroke unit/Neurosciences.
• Support changes in patient quality of life by developing transitions between roles and facilitating recovery and independence.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of stroke and neurological services.
• Provide specialist assessment, treatment and advice to patients within your area of speciality, facilitating and maximising patient potential.
• Plan, co-ordinate and evaluate the Occupational Therapy service on acute wards and community pathways.
