Job summary

Barking Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Band 7 Advanced Occupational Therapist to rotate across neuro services (HASU/ASU, Stroke Rehabilitation, ESD and Acute Neurosciences).

You will provide specialist assessment and treatment, lead MDT guidance and coordinate OT services across two main sites: KGH Goodmayes and Queen’s Hospital Romford, driving patient independence and carer education.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist assessment, treatment and advice to patients within your area of speciality.
• Give highly specialist guidance and advice to MDT on matters relating to your specialist area.
• Plan, co-ordinate and evaluate the Occupational Therapy service within the acute stroke unit/Neurosciences on a day-to-day basis.
• Negotiate and enable changes in the patient’s quality of life by developing their transition between roles and promoting independence.
• Support the patient’s carer/relative and educate them on rehabilitation techniques to optimise independence.
• Work across HASU/ASU, Stroke Rehabilitation, ESD Stroke Service and Acute Neurosciences as part of a Band 7 rotation.
