Job summary

Altrad are seeking an experienced Rope Access Level 3 to join the team at Hinkley Point B. The role is permanent, 4 days on 9.5 hour shifts (38 hours/week). Start date pending BPSS clearance. Pay rate £25.92 per hour.

Travel willingness is required if not local and BPSS clearance is essential. This is a hands-on, safety-critical role with responsibilities spanning rigging, rescues and on-site supervision.

  • Safety-critical rope access role requires IRATA Level 3 certification.

Responsibilities

  • Rigging and supervising rope access works.
  • Undertake rescues and perform rope access tasks per scope of works.
  • Coordinate with client for access-rigging requirements and permits.
  • Ensure use and maintenance of tools, plant and safety equipment.
  • Report defects to supervision and maintain safe working areas.

About The Role

Altrad are currently looking for an experienced Rope Access Level 3 to join the team at Hinkley Point B.

The work pattern for this position is 4 Days, 9.5 Hour Shifts,38 hours per week. This is aPERMANENTposition. Start date is pending successful BPSS clearance.

Pay rate: £25.92

Key Deliverables:
  • Have an understanding of company safety policy and ensure that it is complied with
  • Use the correct tools, plant and equipment and keep them in good condition. Ensure they are safe before use
  • Report to supervision any defects in plant and equipment, protective clothing or safety equipment
  • Work in a safe manner at all times, avoid taking unnecessary risks
  • Keep working areas and welfare facilities in a clean, tidy and safe condition at all times
  • Do not attempt to carry out any task for which they are not trained
  • Not indulge in any horseplay or interfere with or misuse any plant, equipment or anything provided in the interest of health, safety or welfare
  • Report all accidents or incidents immediately to the supervisor or site manager
  • Supervise worksites
  • Undertakes liaison with client to promote alternate access methods, and to determine access-rigging requirements
  • Organise, participate in or supervise all relevant legislation, permit systems, client liaison and rescues
  • Rigging working ropes
  • Undertaking rescues
  • Performing rope access tasks as defined by scope of works
  • Completion of work in line with required trade action (rigging / painting / cleaning / blasting / non-destructive testing / welding / insulation) to a level to which the employee is qualified
