Job summary

Altrad are seeking an experienced painter/blaster for the Hinkley Point C project in Bridgwater, UK. The role involves 10/4 shift pattern, 22.82 basic per hour, and lodge/travel paid where applicable. Overtime applies on non-working days after the first full week.

Key responsibilities include abrasive blasting, surface prep, coating operations, and ensuring safety and compliance with regulations. ICATS/ACQPA and related qualifications are required.

Qualifications

• ICATS/ACQPA level 1+ qualification required for surface prep and coating application.
• Concrete Coating Applicators Qualification (CCAQ) is needed.
• CCNSG certification is required.
• OPITO Level 1 Blaster/Sprayer or equivalent training.
• ICATS Protective Coatings Applicator or ECITB Skills Test accepted.

Responsibilities

• Perform abrasive blasting, surface prep, and coating application to project standards.
• Use mechanical tools and manual methods for surface prep and coating operations.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and site risk assessments.
• Coordinate with supervision and site safety personnel on site activities.

About The Role

Altrad are currently looking for an experienced painter/ blaster to join the team atHinkley Point C, Bridgwater, Somerset, United Kingdom for the upcoming project.

This role will involve working 10:15-hour shifts on a 10/4 shift pattern, with start to be confirmed. The position is paid under ECSA agreements, with lodge and travel paid where applicable. Pay rate: £22.82 basic/h. Possible opportunity to work on a non-working day at OT rates. Overtime will not come into effect until your first full working week.

Key Accountabilities:

• Mechanical and Hand Tools
• Abrasive Blasting
• Trowelling, Floating & Rolling
• Abrasive wheels andconversant with Regulations/Standards.
• Concrete Coating standards and specifications and the individual types of surface preparation, application methods and coating operations.
• Be aware of the implications of legislation or other good industry practices, relating to the tasks on which they are based.
• With the safety personnel, oversee the implementation of risk and safety assessments.
• Show a personal example of good safety practice.
• Liaise with Supervision and Site Safety Personnel.

Key Requirements:

• ICATS certified or ACQPA level 1 option A and E minimum level or equivalent – Scope of works to be Touch-up therefore must be qualified to surface prep manually and with mechanical tools as well as apply coatings through brush and roller.
