Qualifications

Job description

We are a unique, Ofsted registered daycare setting providing a learning and play experience for children aged 0-5.

Our three warm, home-like settings, located in Sevenoaks Weald, Dunton Green, and Shipbourne, provide exceptional care tailored to each child.

With favorable child-to-adult ratios, our calm and nurturing environments ensure that every child receives attentive care from their dedicated caregiver.

Person Specification for Room Leader
Essential Criteria
- Education & Qualifications Minimum Level 3 qualification in Children
and Young Peoples Workforce or equivalent.
- Paediatric First Aid
- Food Hygiene Certificate
- Fire Marshall
Experience/ Knowledge
- A minimum of 1-year recent experience, working in a Preschool /Nursery
set
- Excellent working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and current
Ofsted statutory guidance. Knowledge and proven practical experience of
implementing good quality learning opportunities.

Main Responsibilities:
• To deliver and ensure a high standard of learning, development and care for
children aged 0-5 years.
• To ensure the environment is safe environment for children, staff, and others.
• Ensure the setting and the practice is inclusive for staff and children. Work with
the SENCo to ensure strategies are in place to support children and these are
effective and regularly reviewed.
• Ensure staff are providing stimulating and personalised invitations and
provocations to play appropriate for all children.
• To embed our ethos with the staff, children and parents and ensure all
stakeholders work towards the company vision.
• Ensure 2 Year checks and termly assessments are completed to a high
standard.
• Continuing to develop a positive working atmosphere where the Team,
children and parents feel valued, appreciated, and supported. Our culture of
reflective learning and peer to peer celebration will continue to grow by
embedding daily reflections, jars of joy, great practice moments, peer to peer
observations, and mentoring.
• To be the first port of call for staff in your room with day-to-day problems and
questions and were necessary liaise with Setting Manager and Deputy.
• To support the leadership team with the efficient running of the room and
overall delivery of a high-quality service.
• To ensure that the setting provides a safe, caring, stimulating educational
environment, both indoors and outdoors
• Ensure the setting has high levels of cleanliness and food hygiene standards
are met.
• To supervise and support the staff in your room
• To ensure all staff understand and work to company policies and procedures
daily.
• Take responsibility for ensuring staff are planning age and stage appropriate
activities, which ensures each child is working towards their next steps.
• Lead daily reflections alongside the Manager.
• To support apprentices
• To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed, in accordance with
the setting aims and objectives.
• Keeping registers accurate, neat, and up to date
• Having a well organised environment where documents can be found with
ease
• Ensuring the appropriate risk assessments are being carried out daily
• Attending allergy awareness training
• First port of call for parents with questions or low levels concerns
• Responsible for displaying up to date allergy and food stage information
• Responsible for passing on key information to your team regarding care plans,
medication, allergies, weaning and routines
• Responsible for overseeing the health and safety of the children and staff in
the group.
• Keeping accident and medicine book neat accurate and up to date
