Job summary

Sea Containers London is seeking a confident Host/Hostess for 12th Knot, a premier rooftop venue atop our hotel on London’s South Bank. This part-time role involves greeting guests, managing seating and reservations, and guiding guests through their visit with expert service and a friendly demeanor.

You will engage with guests, coordinate with the restaurant and kitchen teams, and ensure smooth dining experiences from arrival to departure.

Qualifications

• Experience in front-of-house or customer service.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Create a warm, friendly and professional first impression for every guest
• Manage reservations and seating using OpenTable and Micros
• Build genuine connections with guests, recognising regulars and enhancing their experience
• Anticipate guest needs and ensure a smooth, enjoyable visit from arrival to departure
• Communicate effectively with the restaurant, kitchen and management teams (including dietary requirements, celebrations, and special requests)
• Maintain a clear overview of the dining room to ensure efficient service flow
• Handle phone and in-person enquiries with confidence and professionalism
• Be a knowledgeable point of contact, guiding guests around the venue and hotel

About the Role

Perched atop Sea Containers London on the vibrant South Bank, 12th Knot is one of London's most iconic rooftop destinations. We’re looking for a confident, personable Host/Hostess to be the welcoming face of our restaurant on a part-time basis. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, love engaging with people, and take pride in delivering outstanding service, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

Salary: £12.71 p/h + service charge, plus benefits
