The ideal candidate will have proven estimator experience in roofing and cladding, strong drawings interpretation skills, and a proactive approach to value engineering and risk assessment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Estimator in roofing and cladding
• Strong understanding of roofing systems and cladding products
• Able to read and interpret technical drawings and specs
• Experience producing detailed cost estimates and tenders
• Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimating software

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and take-offs for roofing and cladding projects
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
• Produce accurate tender submissions within required timescales

Job Title: Roofing & Cladding Estimator

Location: Northampton
Hours of Work: Some flexibility available
Mon-Fri: 07:00-16:00 / 08:00-17:00 / 09:00-18:00

Salary: £55,000-£65,000 DOE

Interaction Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Roofing & Cladding Estimator to join a growing and well-established business based in Northampton. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced estimator looking to play a key role in securing and delivering high-value roofing and cladding projects across the commercial and industrial sectors.

PLEASE NOTE: ROOFING AND CLADDING EXPERIENCE IS ESSENTIAL FOR THIS POSITION.

What You'll Do

As a Roofing & Cladding Estimator, you will be responsible for producing accurate and competitive tenders while supporting the commercial success of the business.

Key responsibilities include:

• Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation


• Preparing detailed cost estimates and take-offs for roofing and cladding projects


• Obtaining and evaluating quotations from suppliers and subcontractors


• Producing accurate tender submissions within required timescales


• Identifying potential risks, opportunities, and value engineering options


• Liaising with clients, architects, contractors, and internal project teams


• Supporting contract handovers to project delivery teams upon successful award


• Maintaining strong supplier and subcontractor relationships


• Monitoring market trends and material pricing to ensure competitive quotations

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as an Estimator within the roofing and cladding industry


• Strong understanding of roofing systems, rainscreen cladding, composite panels, and associated products


• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications


• Experience producing detailed cost estimates and tenders


• Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail


• Strong negotiation and communication skills


• Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimating software


• Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously


• Full UK driving licence preferred
