Job summary

WPS is looking for an experienced Roofer to join our Responsive Maintenance team, working on a social housing contract in the Barnsley area. You’ll carry out day‑to‑day roofing repairs and maintenance across occupied social housing properties, delivering a high‑quality service while maintaining safety and customer care.

The role requires NVQ Level 2 in Roofing, a valid UK driving licence, and proven experience in occupied properties; DBS disclosure will be required at offer stage.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Roofer, ideally within social housing or responsive maintenance.
NVQ Level 2 in Roofing (or equivalent) – essential.
Full UK driving licence – essential.
Experience working in occupied properties.
Strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
Reliable, professional and customer focused.

Responsibilities

Carry out responsive roofing repairs and maintenance across social housing properties
Undertake roof inspections, fault diagnosis and remedial works
Work in line with Health & Safety, safeguarding and company procedures
Communicate effectively with schedulers, supervisors and residents
Complete job records and materials used via a handheld/PDA system
Work collaboratively with other trades when required
Deliver a professional, customer‑focused service in occupied homes
