Job summary

Home Group Limited is seeking an experienced multi-skilled Roofer to perform quality maintenance across responsive and void properties in Welwyn Garden City and surrounding areas. You will follow a whole-job repair approach, delivering pitched and flat roof work with a focus on first-time fixes.

The role requires a valid roofing qualification, experience in domestic housing, and a driving licence with a company van provided for work use. A flexible mindset and DBS check are expected.

Qualifications

• City and Guilds NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in roofing.
• Experience as a roofer in domestic housing ( pitched and flat roofs ).
• Experience diagnosing roofing works and identifying required tasks.
• Experience in other building trades (multi-skilled) and GRP/3-layer torch-on felt.

Responsibilities

• Complete allocated roofing jobs right first time with a whole-job repair approach.
• Carry out roofing works across repairs, maintenance and refurbishments (pitched and flat roofs).
• Deliver high-quality, compliant work.
• Develop multi-skilling to improve first-time fixes and reduce follow-up visits.
• Plan work so you know exact locations and times for visits.

What you’ll do

• As multi skilled Roofer, all allocated jobs are completed right first time, with a whole job repair approach, providing a brilliant service for our customers.
• Roofing works across repairs, maintenance and property refurbishments including pitched and flat roofs.
• Delivering high-quality and compliant work.
• Multi skilling to improve first time fixes and prevent multiple visits to customers’ homes.
• All jobs are scheduled so you know exactly where you need to be.

You have

• City and Guilds NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in roofing.
• Experienced roofer within domestic housing, including pitched and flat roofs.
• Experience and knowledge of diagnosing and identifying roofing works required.
• Experience in other building trade areas (multi skilled) plus GRP and 3 layer torch on felt.
• A flexible approach, able to use your own initiative and judgement.
• A full current manual driving licence, will be provided with a company van for business use and commuting.

The practical bits

• Working Monday to Friday, as well as our out of hours service on a rota basis with an additional generous on call payment.
• Working in our properties across Colchester, Southend and Chelmsford
• Must be able to use technology
• You’ll need a Basic DBS and health check done which we pay for.
