Job summary

Morgan Hunt UK Ltd is seeking an Outreach Worker to engage with the Roma community across Westminster, Camden and wider London. The role requires building trust, accessing accommodation and essential services through a trauma-informed, person-centred approach.

The successful candidate will conduct outreach, complete needs assessments, advocate with agencies, and coordinate support teams to help individuals move away from rough sleeping. Fluency with the Roma community is essential.

Qualifications

• Fluent in speaking with the Roma community and building relationships.
• Experience or strong understanding of homelessness, rough sleeping or outreach support.
• Excellent communication, engagement and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work sensitively with individuals experiencing multiple disadvantages.
• Understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Ability to work across a rota, including early and late shifts, Monday to Sunday.
• Proactive, resilient and compassionate approach to supporting vulnerable individuals.

Responsibilities

• Conduct outreach shifts to engage with people experiencing rough sleeping and homelessness, especially within the Roma community.
• Build trusting, professional relationships using a person-centred, trauma-informed approach.
• Identify individuals needing accommodation, welfare, healthcare, mental health, or other support.
• Complete needs assessments and develop personalised support and move-on plans.
• Assist individuals in accessing emergency accommodation and longer-term housing.
• Advocate for service users with housing providers, local authorities, healthcare professionals and services.
• Support access to welfare benefits, healthcare, ID and essential services.
• Collaborate with homelessness services and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate support.
• Maintain accurate case notes, records and handovers.
• Identify safeguarding concerns and high-risk situations as needed.
• Promote independence, dignity, equality, and inclusion while moving away from rough sleeping.
