Job summary

Arriva TrainCare is seeking a Rolling Stock Modifications Team Leader at Crewe Depot. You will lead a team of engineering professionals on vehicle modification and maintenance projects, driving safety, compliance and continuous improvement in a fast-paced depot environment.

Qualifications

• BTEC/NVQ Level 3 qualification in Engineering is essential, preferably Rail Traction & Rolling Stock.
• Experience supervising engineering teams.
• Strong knowledge of rail vehicle maintenance and depot operations.
• Understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering principles.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Experience with Class 15X DMUs.
• Knowledge of health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
• Good IT, communication and report-writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate a team of fitters to deliver contracted work safely and efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with VMIs, VOIs and company work instructions.
• Maintain high safety, quality and production standards across the depot.
• Liaise with customers and internal stakeholders to support project delivery.
• Coach and develop team members to maximise performance.
• Support competence assessments and training initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance operational efficiency.
• Ensure work locations remain compliant, safe and fit for purpose.
• Promote a positive safety culture and ensure compliance with requirements.
• Support the Crewe Depot Manager in delivery of modification programmes.
