Job summary

Rocksteady Music School Limited is hiring a Derby-based Rock and Pop Music Teacher (Band Leader). This full-time, permanent role involves teaching primary-age children across a regional area in a dynamic rock and pop band format, typically in up to 10 schools per week.

No prior teaching experience is required as full training and ongoing development are provided, along with a UK/EU driving licence and own transport for travel between schools.

Qualifications

• No teaching experience required – full training, support and development provided.
• Must be able to travel to multiple schools in a regional area.
• Competent on at least two instruments: drums, guitar, bass, keyboard or vocals.

Responsibilities

• Teach groups of primary-age children in a fun, inspiring rock and pop band format across up to 10 schools per week.
• Teach drums, guitar, bass, keyboard and vocals to children for instrument learning.
• Work independently as part of a remote team of band leaders with central support.
• Help children perform live at end-of-term concerts and develop self-belief and wellbeing.
• Represent Rocksteady and build relationships with schools, teachers and parents.
• Load, transport and set up band equipment between locations.
