Job summary

Applied Intuition UK, based in London, is seeking a Robotics Software Engineer to develop autonomy software for defense platforms. The role involves field deployments, SIL/HIL testing, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to advance autonomy across vehicle types.

You will work on embedded Linux platforms, integrate with Pixhawk systems, and ensure robust, reusable autonomy solutions. Travel to customer sites may be required.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Robotics, CS, or related engineering field.
• 3+ years hands-on robotics systems experience.
• Proficiency in modern C++.
• Experience autonomy behavior and navigation algorithms.
• Experience with Pixhawk autopilots (ArduPilot and/or PX4).
• Experience with comms: UART/RS232/RS422/RS485, SPI/QSPI, I2C, Ethernet.
• Docker and Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu) experience.
• Strong communication and delivery mindset.

Responsibilities

• Develop and adapt mission behavior, navigation, and decision logic for defense platforms.
• Design modular autonomy capabilities reusable across vehicles.
• Integrate and deploy autonomy on embedded Linux and hardware.
• Conduct SIL/HIL testing and evaluations.
• Support live flight test of autonomy software on Group 1-5 UAVs.
• Troubleshoot integration issues across the stack.
• Collaborate with 3rd party UAS vendors and cross-functional teams.
