Job summary

Daventry Metal Products in Daventry is seeking a skilled operator to set up and run our automated Yaskawa Motoman ArcWorld welding cells on the shop floor. You will load and unload assemblies, monitor weld quality, and perform light maintenance while following 5S principles.

Working at our Daventry facility, you will read engineering drawings, use hand tools, and apply basic tack/MIG welding as needed. We offer a permanent contract from day one, a 1:00 PM finish every Friday, and 33 days of paid

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience operating industrial robotic welding cells within a metal fabrication environment.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, weld symbols and layouts.
• Desirable: NVQ / Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in fabrication/welding.

Responsibilities

• Set up and run Yaskawa Motoman ArcWorld robotic welding cells using teach pendants.
• Load and unload assemblies onto rotary tables, dual-positioners and multi-axis equipment.
• Monitor welds for consistent quality and perform light maintenance on consumables.
• Ensure safety by checking light curtains/guards and maintaining a clean workspace (5S).
• Carry out pre-weld preparation, component alignment and tack/MIG/MAG rework when needed.
• Perform visual and dimensional inspections against 2D drawings.
• Support fabrication activities and maintain workspace organisation.
