Job summary

Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust seeks a Digital Services professional to design, develop and support robotic process automation and intelligent automation solutions, aimed at cutting manual administrative work across the trust.

You will work with clinical, operational and corporate teams to identify automation opportunities, deploy across environments, and maintain services while ensuring governance and security policies are met and training is provided to colleagues.

Qualifications

Relevant degree or equivalent or significant experience at degree level.
Comprehensive IT training or education and evidence of ongoing professional development.
Experience in an RPA or intelligent automation role with automation platforms.

Job description

This Digital Services post at Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust centres on automation, building robotic process automation and intelligent automation solutions to cut manual administrative work across the trust. The post holder designs, develops, tests and supports Blue Prism automations, working with clinical, operational and corporate teams to find suitable processes. It is a technical specialist role that needs SQL, advanced Excel and software development experience, and it includes training colleagues. Interviews are set for 9 and/or 10 November 2026.

What the job involves

Design, develop and test automation and intelligent automation solutions
Work with stakeholders to identify business requirements and automation opportunities
Manage automation deployments through development, test and production environments
Maintain, monitor and continuously improve automation services
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing automations
Ensure solutions meet information governance, cyber security and Trust policies
Create and maintain technical documentation
Participate in project delivery and change management activities
Monitor automation performance and recommend improvements
Provide training and technical support to colleagues
Act as subject matter expert for automation technologies
Reduce repetitive manual tasks and administrative burden through automation

Qualifications

Experience

Significant experience in an RPA or intelligent automation role
Experience and knowledge of automation platforms
Previous experience of automation projects
Experience of software development methodologies
Experience working in a team and responding to competing demands
Experience managing own workload and working to tight deadlines

Skills & knowledge

Advanced Excel, including functions, macros, and exporting data to other programmes
Designing, creating and querying SQL and relational databases
Producing detailed written reports and presentations
Awareness of own limitations
Understanding of information governance and confidentiality
